Dear John,
Today, a majority of senators — including some who actually want us to believe they support abortion rights — voted against codifying Roe v. Wade.
This is a crisis.
Women are on the verge of seeing the human right to exercise autonomy over our own bodies decimated by Trump’s Supreme Court, leaving more than 36 million women of reproductive age without access to abortion care. And the GOP is already talking about advancing a federal abortion ban if they regain control of Congress.
We cannot let that happen!
That’s why we need you to make an emergency donation of $20 or more to the National Partnership today.
It’s not just our fundamental right to abortion care that’s at stake in this fight.
Everywhere you look in our country, women are suffering from harmful laws, policies, and cultural practices that reflect centuries of white male efforts to control our choices and keep us in “our place.”
Black mothers are dying from preventable pregnancy-related causes at an alarming — and RISING — rate.
There’s also the reality that, more than 40 years after the Pregnancy Discrimination Act became law, pregnant workers are still denied small accommodations — such as the ability to sit instead of stand, carry a water bottle, or take a bathroom break — that would help keep them healthy, working, and supporting their families.
Many of the same senators who turned their backs on us today are also blocking paid leave, COVID relief, and other essential caregiving support that women and families urgently need.
The path forward demands that we all work together and harness our power.
That’s why we urge you to redouble your commitment to voting this election season, and to supporting organizations on the ground like the National Partnership for Women & Families.
With your help, we will never stop fighting for policies that prioritize women’s health and economic security.
Thank you!
