The recent news about Roe was shocking but not surprising. This is the result of an insidious decades-long campaign by the right to take control of people's bodies and block access to basic healthcare.

Back in 2016, in the final presidential debate, Donald Trump made it clear to the audience that as president, he would appoint Supreme Court Justices with the explicit goal of overturning Roe v. Wade .

Later on in the campaign, he suggested that there needed to be some form of punishment for women who sought abortions. And in his four years in the presidency, a presidency that was riddled with a laundry list of criminal activity, marked by two impeachments and an insurrection, Donald Trump was still able to have his choice of three Supreme Court Justices.

We believe that the overturning of Roe v. Wade will affect people in all walks of life, including Republican leaders and their mistresses. Yet, the overturning can be directly blamed on the refusal of the Treason Caucus and their Republican friends to hold Trump accountable.
