This webinar will focus on asylum applicants’ eligibility for employment authorization. Since the summer of 2020, when the Department of Homeland Security issued new regulations restricting employment authorization eligibility for asylum seekers, this area of the law has been in flux. Because of a partial injunction of the new regulations in Casa de Maryland v. Wolf, No. 8:20-CV-02118-PX, 2020 WL 5500165 (D. Md. Sept. 11, 2020), two different sets of rules now govern access to employment authorization. This webinar will provide updates on the latest developments in this area and give tips to practitioners on how to assist clients in applying for, receiving, and renewing employment authorization.
