Last week, more than 150 friends and supporters gathered at the AFL-CIO in Washington, DC to recognize IWPR's tremendous impact over the past three decades and to honor the career achievements of the woman who made it possible: Founding President Heidi Hartmann.
Speakers included: Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Representative for Connecticut's 3rd Congressional District; Erica Groshen, former Commissioner of the Bureau Labor Statistics and current Professor at Cornell University; Martha Burk, Money editor, Ms. Magazine; and current and former IWPR Board members Terry Odendahl, former IWPR board chair and President and CEO of Global Greengrants; Martha Darling, IWPR Board Vice Chair; William Rodgers, IWPR Board Treasurer and Professor at Rutgers University; and Rhiana Gunn-Wright, former IWPR Mariam K. Chamberlain Fellow and current IWPR Board Member, who is the policy architect of the Green New Deal at New Consensus.
IWPR also introduced its new President and CEO, C. Nicole Mason.
