Texans have seen the consequences of elected officials who prioritize political stunts over real solutions to the challenges we face.
Just take a look at what Gov. Greg Abbott has done in recent months:
*
An
order
to
inspect
commercial
trucks
at
the
border

disrupting
supply
chains
and
costing
Texas
consumers
and
businesses
over
$4
billion

without
turning
up
any
illegal
substances
or
activities

*
An
order
to
investigate
parents
providing
gender-affirming
care
to
their
children,
sending
shock
and
fear
through
Texas
families

*
An
order
to
bus
immigrants

using
taxpayers’
funds

from
Texas
to
D.C.
These actions don’t solve anything. More often, they create a whole new set of problems.
And it’s not just Abbott. The Texas legislature’s passage of S.B. 8, a near-total abortion ban, created a crisis of reproductive care across our state. An average of 1,400 Texans have been forced to travel out of state each month to get the care they need. In Oklahoma alone, Planned Parenthood clinics have experienced a 2,500% increase in patients from Texas.
Leadership matters, and that means elections and their outcomes matter, too.
That’s why our work together is so important. Lizzie is working to deliver solutions that make a meaningful difference in Texans’ lives — like protecting access to reproductive health care and making all health care more affordable.
We’re working to reach voters and talk to them about the work Lizzie is doing, which is essential now that we have a new map where 70% of voters are new to the district. Your contributions support our efforts. Any amount you can contribute would make a big difference. [[link removed]]
