Team,

Last night, a leaked draft Supreme Court decision signaled that a majority of the Justices are poised to overturn Roe v. Wade .

Worse, Kentucky has a trigger law on the books, meaning that as soon as the decision is made official, legal abortion in Kentucky will be over .

Even worse, Republicans in Kentucky’s legislature passed a law that doesn’t even allow exceptions for women or girls who are victims of rape or incest. If Roe is overturned, that law will take effect immediately.

This vicious attack on women’s rights is being carried out by an unelected, far-right Court that Mitch McConnell packed with his hypocritical maneuvers in the Senate – even though the vast majority of Americans support upholding Roe v. Wade.

Make no mistake: this ruling will not end abortion in Kentucky. This ruling will only end safe abortions. Many women will turn to dangerous, back-alley reproductive care. Lives will be lost because of this decision.

More than ever before, local reproductive rights groups need your support. Will you chip in to Protect Kentucky Access, an organization working to protect abortion access in our state? 100% of your contribution goes toward the fight to preserve the right to choose

Now, Congress MUST step up in this pivotal movement to ensure continuation of safe, legal abortion access by passing federal protections that codify the right to choose.

We can’t allow this GOP-dominated Court to roll back more of our fundamental rights. While this is certainly a dark day in America, we can’t hang our heads down and give up.

Let’s keep fighting. Your vote has never been more important. Let’s support pro-choice Democrats up and down the ballot. Let’s pass a federal law that enshrines every American’s right to make their own healthcare decisions.

Sincerely,
Morgan McGarvey
