Abortion is health care, and health care is a human right.

Friends -

Last night, a leaked draft opinion indicated that the United States Supreme Court appears poised to repeal Roe v. Wade in the very near future.

What this means is that a stolen, illegitimate, right-wing Court would destroy the right to abortion, an essential right that protects the health, safety, and freedom of millions of Americans.

There is no other recourse. We must abolish the filibuster, expand the Supreme Court, and guarantee abortion rights for all by codifying it as the law of the land.

But the urgency of this moment means that before that happens, we must act and all do what we can immediately. That’s why I’m asking you today:

Please split a contribution — of $5 or anything you can — to The Brigid Alliance, Indigenous Women Rising, Access Reproductive Care - Southeast, The Jane Fund of Central Massachusetts, and the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project, organizations working directly in the fight for abortion rights and reproductive justice all across the country.

SPLIT A CONTRIBUTION

I want to be perfectly clear: Abortion is health care, and health care is a human right.

I promise that I will always do everything in my power as a United States Senator to fight for and protect the right to reproductive freedom, and work tirelessly to guarantee that comprehensive reproductive health care is legal, safe, and available for all.

Last night’s news has made it more clear than ever that our movement must stand together in this fight, which is why your support of these incredible organizations on the frontlines is so important.

Thank you for adding your contribution today if you can.

In solidarity,

Ed Markey
