I'm Mary Ibarra, and last week I became Julie's campaign manager. I'm a proud Texan from the Rio Grande Valley, where we've seen the horrific impact of Trump's border wall and family separation policies. One of the reasons I joined Julie's campaign is her clear commitment to advocating for the most vulnerable in our communities and creating a fair immigration system that recognizes all of our shared humanity.
I was so impressed in 2018 to see Julie, running an unapologetically progressive campaign that spoke to voters' priorities, close the gap to single digits in a district that Republicans won by 20 points. In 2020, we're finishing the job.

I've previously worked to increase voter participation among Latino communities. Expanding the electorate changes election results -- we've seen that firsthand throughout Texas in the last few years. I know that running a campaign that emphasizes immigration justice, Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and an end to corporate influence in politics will excite new voters and create the diverse coalition we need to win.
Julie's campaign has created an innovative tool to help identify new Democratic voters. It's my job to ensure we have the resources to reach them and get them registered to vote.
