Dear John Do you know an ocean lover who might not be registered to vote? The deadline to register is 11.59pm tonight -- Tuesday 26 November. So quick, forward this email to ocean lovers you know who might want a say at the upcoming election. People can register online and it only takes 5 minutes: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote The election is in just 16 days, and whoever takes power will do so at a most critical moment for our oceans. Will the new government continue the fight against ocean plastic pollution? Will they make sure our seas stay sewage free, no matter what happens with Brexit? Will they understand the power of the ocean to protect us from climate change, if only we protect the life within it? Together we can make sure they do. But first things first, let’s make sure everyone we know who loves the ocean is signed up to vote. The deadline is just hours away. It’s been a truly chaotic year in politics. But I’m so proud of the #GenerationSea movement we’ve built together in response. We’re truly becoming the voice of the ocean, from our beaches to the corridors of power. From the record 90,000 of us who came out to beach cleans this year, to those signing and sharing online to spread the word, thank you. I’ll be in touch soon to offer some help sorting out what political parties are saying about the ocean ahead of the election, so we can all #VoteForTheOcean on 12 December. Until then - let's make sure everyone is registered: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote For the ocean, Hugo Twitter: @hugoSAS Drastic measures are needed to protect the marine environment. Become a member today to help us tackle pollution in our seas and on the beaches, inspire communities to take action and push for change at the highest level.
