We've always known that the Republican members of the Treason Caucus put our democracy and the survival of Congress in danger on January 6. Now, it's come to light that the House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy knew and recognized the danger that these people posed since the early aftermath of January 6.

In recent leaked audio, we found out that Kevin was fearful of elected officials like Matt Gaetz, Mo Brooks, Lauren Boebert, and Barry Moore putting people in jeopardy while doing something "potentially illegal."

It's not often that we find ourselves agreeing with Kevin McCarthy, of all people, but it's insulting that for the past year, he has continued to lie to the American people and downplayed the real danger of the insurrection on January 6.

We deserve leaders who will not cover up the truth to save the face of their own corrupt party.

We deserve accountability, and the Treason Caucus deserves to answer for their crimes.
