Getting the basics right is essential for NYC’s recovery
Dear New Yorkers,
A just recovery for New York City requires getting the basics right. We need our city government to prioritize clean, safe and affordable neighborhoods, so that all communities can thrive. New Yorkers know best how government services are working (and how they are not!) to meet the needs of our communities.
That’s why today we are launching ourhttps://comptroller.nyc.gov/newsroom/surveys/sanitation-survey/“Let’s Talk Trash!” survey. ([link removed]) We have five quick questions for you about the quality of sanitation services in your neighborhoods.

The survey isn’t your only chance to tell us what you think about city government. Starting next week, we will be in neighborhoods across the city talking trash and taxes at our Sanitation and Property Tax Town Hall series!
Has your neighborhood gotten dirtier over the last few years? Do you think your property taxes are unfair? We want to talk about it!
I’ve been a strong supporter of overhauling New York’s confusing property tax system, and I released a budget report ([link removed]) in March outlining key recommendations. Join us to talk about how comprehensive property tax reform could impact you and your neighbors.
We’ll be on Staten Island next Tuesday, and the northeast Bronx on May 12. RSVP below and stay tuned for more town hall stops in Brooklyn, Queens, and a virtual forum coming soon!
