John,

We’re excited to share some incredible news with you!

Two days ago, we released our comprehensive plan on Women’s Empowerment and Reproductive Justice!

Inside, we addressed some of the most pressing issues involving full-healthcare access, representation in the workforce, equal pay, and extending protections to those living as trans or non-binary.

It was also time to be straightforward about Rep. Jackson-Lee’s past treatment towards women on her staff, and her efforts to silence survivors. We must end the culture that delegitimizes stories, and instead work to uplift and empower those who’ve experienced trauma.

We’re also proud to have been a part of the effort to push the Green New Deal into Houston’s political conversation. Thanks to the efforts of organizations like Sunrise Movement HTX and 350 Houston, we pressured the congresswoman into officially signing onto the resolution!

Next, we must prioritize actual legislation like the recently unveiled Green New Deal for Public Housing Act as a bold next step in our movement. It’s one thing to sign onto resolutions, but it takes political will and courage to support real transformative policies.

We are building a people-funded, grassroots movement that is willing to take on powerful special interests by putting power back into the hands of our constituents. But this is only possible with your help.

Let’s #PushForward together!

In solidarity,

Stevens Orozco
