According to several long-term studies, average sperm counts are way down across the Western Hemisphere. It’s not so much of an issue that you need to run a full diagnostic before getting into the nitty-gritty of baby-making. But if you don’t get pregnant within a year or so, it’s probably time to do a deep dive on your swimmers.

How To Get More Sperm

Your sperm count isn’t entirely in your control, but good habits can help. A lot.

1. Lift weights. It can boost your testosterone, which will boost your sperm.
2. Eat well, including cutting back on saturated fats.
3. Stay hydrated.
4. Get at least six hours of sleep per night.
5. Have sex or masturbate three to four times a week.
6. Cut out cigarettes, weed, and heavy alcohol use.
7. Avoid biking shorts, and biking.
8. Keep it cool. Avoid hot tubs and saunas.
9. Like, really cool. Take cold showers, and try sitting on a bag of frozen peas for a half-hour. Seriously.
10. Keep your phone out of your front pocket and your laptop off your lap.
11. Avoid stress. Easy, right?

The odds of conception may (very, very slightly) increase if the sperm is deposited as close to the cervix as possible. Here's how to do just that.

1. Missionary: allows for deeper penetration and a downhill route for sperm.
2. Doggy-Style: allows for deeper penetration than even missionary. 
3. The Handstand: for the very athletic type, get gravity on your side by thrusting from above.

What you may want to avoid: any position in which the woman is on top, so you don’t have to fight gravity.
