When demand far exceeds supply, inflation increases. One of the fastest ways to create inflation is to pump trillions of dollars into the economy, driving up demand as consumers have more to spend.
In case you’ve somehow forgotten, that’s exactly what the Biden administration and Democrats in Congress did. Now, inflation is acting as a regressive tax on every good, from gasoline to groceries.
And it is a regressive tax. Wage workers, who spend more on gas, food, and vehicles are the ones hardest hit by inflation. They’re also the ones least able to afford such steep cost increases, as hourly workers make up the middle and bottom income brackets.
Democrats like to talk about inequality - but inflation is incredibly unequal. We need to end the inflation crisis, for the sake of all Americans, especially those of us least able to afford inflation.
The fastest way to end inflation is to stop massive government spending plans, roll back those already passed, and repeal the over regulation that stymies the supply chain. Sadly, Democrats are married to the progressive policies that would have to go to fight inflation.
