I am feeling absolutely fired up after finishing one of the first Attorney General candidate forums of this race (and I’m looking forward to our first debate in just a month).
I shared my vision for what the next Massachusetts Attorney General can do and how I’ll fight for every single person across our Commonwealth.
As Attorney General, I will continue to hold big corporations and corporate bad actors accountable — as I have done for the past 20 years as a private attorney and part of my own labor law firm.
I will ensure that those experiencing substance misuse, homelessness, and cycles of poverty are not met with criminal convictions, but with long-term community support.
I will lead the charge to combat the effects of climate change on our state, which are already being felt by our most vulnerable, frontline communities. It’s why I called for a climate-focused debate and I’m proud that we will be holding that debate next month.
I will fight to make sure our public schools get the investment and support they need — not diverting those funds into private, charter schools which cannot be held accountable by the state.
I will fight to make sure those who are wrongfully convicted and incarcerated — who are disproportionately Black and brown people — receive the compensation they deserve for the horrific harms they’ve endured through loss of job opportunities, time with their families, and getting to live their lives.
I will go to work every day to fight for the people of Massachusetts, just as I have done for decades for thousands of people across our state and across the country.
I am so proud of the movement we have been building and I can’t wait to keep having these important conversations with all of you — but in order to do that, we need to have the resources to make it happen.
