The New York Court of Appeals just struck down the state’s congressional map and ordered it to be redrawn by a Special Master appointed by a Republican judge.
As the redistricting process plays out in our state, our campaign to re-elect Mondaire is already being tested. Here’s what all of this means for our race:
Our district could become more competitive than we initially anticipated. During the first round of redistricting, we picked up counties where Donald Trump won big in 2020, and multiple GOP opponents have already jumped in to challenge Mondaire. It’s safe to say our race could become even more competitive when our district maps are redrawn for a second time.
Mondaire’s seat could be in jeopardy this November. Republicans only need five seats to take back control of the House, and they'll do everything in their power to do so. With Mondaire on the frontlines of many crucial battles — including fighting to lower costs for working families and protect reproductive and voting rights — it’s so important that we come together to re-elect him.
If Republicans take back control of the House, they'll waste no time undoing the progress Democrats have made for everyday Americans.
