Hey team, it's Jake — Sarah's campaign manager. I made a difficult decision a few weeks ago that I wanted to follow up with you on personally.

It was during a meeting where it became evident that with Republican spending ramping up and Ron Johnson already running his own TV ads, we would need to fight back earlier than expected.

So I saw an opportunity to make a big investment that would pay off long-term, and we launched our first TV ads as part of a seven-figure buy in every major market across Wisconsin. The money wasn’t in the budget, but I approved the plan anyway.

It was a risky move, but moments ago, a new poll was released of our race for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, and it shows that everything we’re doing on TV, online, and on the ground is working. We only just started communicating with voters, and Sarah grew the most out of anyone in the primary field — more than doubling her previous numbers.

This race has tightened significantly and our campaign is making all the right moves to win. In fact, thanks to so many of you, we just had our best fundraising quarter to date!

As we celebrate the good news, we also need to keep our foot on the gas and continue getting Sarah’s message out to undecided voters. This poll proves that once folks get to know Sarah and what she stands for, they line up to support her — just like we said they would. But going up on TV and staying up requires a LOT of resources.

I first gave the green light because I knew that if we asked, folks like you would help us fill the significant gap created in our budget — and you did. Now, I’m really hoping we can count on you again to make sure we have the resources to keep getting Sarah's message out to voters so we can win this Senate race.

So, what do you say? Would you consider making a contribution to Sarah's campaign so she can compete with Ron Johnson and the GOP in this race? I’m counting on our top supporters — you! — to help get our message in front of as many undecided voters as possible. Anything you can give will make a big difference.

Look, I'm not the type to sugarcoat things — I don't do it with Sarah, and I'm not going to do it with you. I knew we would be taking a big risk when I gave the green light to go up on TV a couple weeks ago, but I also knew that this grassroots team has seen us through thick and thin. That's what I'm banking on now.

We are going all in to win this race, and I hope we can continue to count on your support. Thanks.

— Jake
