Here's an image Julie sent to use in the newsletter.  Her email subject: "Sometimes pictures speak louder than words."

Peter Kalmus (climate scientist and 47 year old father) is asking us, warning us really, to do something!

You may have heard 350MKE's own Dr. George Stone become passionate while discussing the state of the planet.  Both have studied the data, and both are scared!

Do you see Chase Bank in the image?
Here's hoping you'll join us on Fridays!

We have signs, or bring your own!

Julie Enslow & George Martin

Militarism and the Climate

The two giant threats to life as we know it, how they are connected, and our responsibility to preserve the beauty and wonder of creation.

Julie Enslow has worked on peace, nuclear disarmament and environmental issues since the Vietnam War. She was a co-founder in 1977 of Mobilization for Survival (now Peace Action of Wisconsin) and has served as its program organizer, newsletter editor, and Steering Committee member. For the past eight years she has helped facilitate 350.org Milwaukee, the international climate action group.

George Martin, after a career in marketing and healthcare for the homeless, joined Peace Action of Wisconsin as Program Director in 2001.  He served as Co-Chair of national United for Peace and Justice for eight years during the Iraq War. He currently works with 350.org Milwaukee and serves on the Milwaukee County and City Task Force on Climate Change and Economic Equity.
