Hey John,
For far too long, the gun industry has gone unregulated and increased its profits by using deceptive, unethical, and illegal advertising practices – like marketing weapons to children. Earlier this month, our judicial advocacy team filed a petition with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to put an end to this dangerous behavior.
We joined forces with two fellow gun violence prevention organizations for this action, forming the Firearms Accountability Counsel Taskforce (FACT) coalition. Together, we work with top law firms to reduce gun violence.
John, our judicial advocacy team is able to do this work because of generous supporters like you. Joining this coalition is one of many ways that we will fight in the courts to protect Americans from gun violence. Can you help fuel our team by making a $10 contribution today?
The FTC must enforce consumer protections and advertising regulations against the gun industry, the same way it does for other dangerous products like tobacco and alcohol. The gun industry has deceptively marketed guns to consumers as a way to keep their homes safe – but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Guns in homes have led to millions of innocent lives being lost.
We’re proud to embark on this endeavor with our partners in the FACT coalition. Help continue to fuel our judicial advocacy work by making a $10 contribution today.
Thanks for your support,
Tabitha Escalante
