Growing up, I didn't think I would become the second woman in American history to be elected both Governor and Senator.

Maggie Hassan as a little girl.

My dad was a WWII veteran who survived the Battle of the Bulge. He used to look over the corner of his newspaper at the breakfast table and ask my siblings and me, “What are you doing for freedom today?”

That's a big question for three kids trying to finish their cereal, but it's one I make a point to answer every day. I first got my start in public service as an advocate, helping to ensure that children like my son Ben, who has cerebral palsy, would be fully included in their communities and have the same opportunities that all parents want for their children.

In the Senate, I was one of the deciding votes to save the Affordable Care Act in 2017. If it weren't for 1,017 votes in New Hampshire in 2016, a Republican would have been in my seat, and millions of Americans would have lost their health care coverage.

It is the honor of my lifetime to represent Granite Staters, and I’m not done fighting for New Hampshire. From lowering the cost of prescription drugs to ending Big Oil’s billions in tax breaks, I'll continue working to ensure that all Americans, regardless of personal circumstances, have the opportunity to succeed.

But here's the deal: Mitch McConnell only has to flip one seat to take back the Senate, and I'm at the top of his list. That's why GOP groups have spent $7.8 million attacking me in New Hampshire.

I hate asking for money, but I really need your help to win this November. If you can, please split $5 or as much as you're comfortable with between my campaign and Gary Peters' before our critical deadline at MIDNIGHT tonight.

I really appreciate it!

With every good wish,
Maggie Hassan
