District leaders can change the Brooklyn Democratic Party – and every leader is up for election in June 2022.

That's why Brooklyn Young Democrats has proudly partnered with a coalition of reform-minded political clubs to launch Brooklyn Can’t Wait ([link removed]) , an effort to create a Brooklyn Democratic Party that respects, empowers, and includes all Brooklynites.

For too long, party leadership has operated with no transparency or accountability ([link removed]) . As a result, Democrats are losing local races we should win, and judges are chosen in backroom deals. The party shuts out volunteers instead of empowering them, and does little to drive voter turnout.

We're supporting a slate of candidates ([link removed]) for District Leader that have agreed to do things differently.

District Leaders are unpaid, and Brooklyn Can’t Wait is an all-volunteer project. But it’s expensive to run for office, especially for first-time candidates. Each ticket sold for our kickoff event help campaigns hire support staff, send mailers, and reach voters in their districts.

These races may be decided by just a few votes—and your contribution can have a huge impact! Join us Thursday to meet the Brooklyn Can't Wait District Leader candidates, hear from elected officials, and mix and mingle with other reformers.
