John – it's Abby and Daniel, writing to you from our home in Cedar Rapids. It turns out that if you marry your best friend like we did, you'll have a lot of things in common. For us, one of the biggest things that ties us together is our love for Iowa.

One of us (Abby) was born and raised in Sherrill – a one-of-a-kind small rural town in Dubuque County, while the other (Daniel) is from Cedar Rapids and feels most at home in Kinnick Stadium, watching a Hawkeye game. Both of us spend our time fighting for a better life for working families here in Iowa – which is why we're determined to defeat Sen. When we decided we wanted to build a life together, we both knew we wanted to do that right here in our beautiful state. We even tied the knot in our backyard! While we were planting roots here, however, so many of our friends were leaving Iowa, looking for more opportunities and better-paying jobs.

We love Iowa, but the thing is, leaders like Sen. Grassley are turning their backs on our incredible state. He's failing working families here who need a fighter. He's failing the 30,000 family farms that we've lost since he took office. He's failing union workers who need protections. He's failing the hundreds of thousands of Iowans who count on the health care that he's tried to take away time and time again.

Taking on Sen. Grassley isn't about politics – it's about fighting for a better future for Iowa and the families like ours that call it home. It's about believing in our state and everything it has to offer.

The GOP knows how powerful this campaign is. It's why they're actively and desperately trying to kick us off the ballot.
