John,
Folks, the GQP is not having a good week, to say the least. What did you expect from a group of treasonous scum buckets?

Look, I don't care what adults do in their private time – assuming that was private time and not a taxpayer-funded event – but let's stick with the picture itself for a minute. Appears to be a group of adults laughing and enjoying themselves.
What bothers me, the thing that gets my blood boiling, is the hypocrisy.
I have been around guys like this my whole life. They go around thumping folks with the Bible, using it as a weapon and twisting its words to serve their own agenda – in Madison Cawthorn’s case, he uses it to attack LBGTQ+ folks, including children.
Meanwhile, this is the stuff they do behind closed doors.
Schoolyard bullies like Cawthorn are all the same: They go after kids who might be a little different so they can thump their chests and feel good about themselves.
They do it because deep down, they’re insecure. Their biggest fear is that you’ll find out what they’re really like behind closed doors – that they’re “different” somehow, too. So, they make a lot of noise and point to the more obviously “different” kids to distract everyone from looking any closer at them.
This kind of hypocritical distraction has become a hallmark of the Republican Party – we can all think of a dozen scandals off the top of our heads where so-called “family values conservatives” were caught doing the very things they preach against on the House and Senate floor while trying to criminalize what folks do in the privacy of their own homes.
And it’s not even always a secret. Donald Trump – infamous for cheating on his wives with models and porn stars and forcing himself on women and teenage girls – has somehow convinced half the country that he, too, is some kind of super-Christian Bible thumper!
Republicans use religion to earn political points with their base, and they also use it to spread hate and animosity. It’s the same exact kind of hypocrisy that ISIS uses when they twist Islamic teachings to spread their hate-filled terrorist agenda.
But hypocrites are the enemies of true faith. That’s what I was taught growing up, and I am sure most folks feel the same way.
I know I’m talking a lot about religion today, and I guess that’s because I’m at the Vatican.
Regardless of what you think of the Roman Catholic Church and its leadership, this place just feels iconic – the culture, architecture, and the vibe here are all very special.
I am going to cut this message short to get back to my travels, but I leave you with this: Let's not waste this opportunity to point out the hypocrisy of the GQP to the rest of the country.
We need to get the word out, but we must do it the right way. Let's not poke fun at Madison Hawthorn for wearing women's clothes. Let's focus on his lies, hypocrisy, and lack of character.
Let's show the country that Democrats are the party of unity and inclusion. Let’s reach out to marginalized communities that haven’t really been engaged in the political world, introduce ourselves to them, and register them to vote.
Remember, even in the record-breaking 2020 elections, only 2/3rd of eligible voters voted. We know from experience midterm elections yield much lower turnouts, so outreach to new voters is a surefire path to victory.
Let’s work together to bring in new people into our voting bloc, remind our base that they’ve got to turn out, and show conservative voters all the ways the Republican Party has been lying to them.
If this sounds good to you, and you want to help, then chip in today, and let's get it done!

Sappers clear the way, Airborne all the way!
