That’s because on Tuesday, after reading a fundraising email sent by a Republican colleague where I was accused of wanting to “groom and sexualize children” for defending LGBTQ+ rights, I took to the Michigan Senate floor to defend myself and the marginalized communities Republicans love attacking:

I've had people reach out to thank me for speaking out, but this isn't about me. It's about us – and how if enough of us come together, speak out, and take action to hold Republicans accountable for their hollow, hateful scheme, it will fail. Period.
