Team,

Did you know that since 2015, twenty-two people were fatally shot during no-knock raids—60% of whom were Black or Hispanic? That’s just one of the appalling statistics we learned this week in a new Washington Post study on no-knock police raids.

Ground Game Texas wants to put an end to no-knock police raids in our state. That’s why we put an initiative on the May 7th ballot in Austin to ban no-knock raids by Austin Police.

But we need your help to make sure it passes. We need to reach every voter in Austin before early voting starts on April 25th. Can you pitch in $30 to help our organizers Get Out the Vote for our ballot initiative? [[link removed]]

Team, two years ago the nation was rocked by the shooting of 26-year-old Breonna Taylor, who was shot inside her own apartment after police conducted a no-knock raid. Like many other shootings, the murder of Breonna Taylor was unjustified and could have been prevented if officers hadn’t stormed her apartment in a late-night no-knock raid.

Across the country 29 states and 21 cities have passed legislation restricting use of no-knock raids. But in Texas, these raids still take place far too often—and in Austin, there are no restrictions on the practice.

Ground Game Texas is trying to change that. We’ve put an initiative on the May 7th ballot to ban no-knock raids once-and-for-all. But we need your help to pass it. With early voting starting on April 25th, can you pitch in $30 to help our organizers Get Out the Vote? Every contribution helps our team pass this critical initiative. [[link removed]]

Together we can make sure no Austin resident is subject to dangerous no-knock police raids.

Thank you,

Ground Game Texas
