One of the great strengths of the United States is the commitment of individual Americans to serving their communities.
As John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Vital to the morality Adams was talking about is the culture of volunteerism common in our great country.
So when you visit your local animal shelter, library, summer camp, or fire department, remember to thank a volunteer.
And to all those who volunteer in our communities, from ticket takers at a Legion baseball game, to those brave Americans who volunteer to keep our nation safe as service members in our Armed Forces, thank you.
