Hey John,

In case you missed our last email below, here’s a short recap. On Tuesday, we held a demonstration outside of Senate Majority Leader Schumer’s NYC office to demand that he bring universal background checks legislation to a vote on the Senate floor ASAP.

There’s been an increase in gun violence throughout the country, and we need our elected officials to take urgent action now, starting with this life-saving measure. We’ll keep showing up to our elected officials’ offices until they do.

You can help keep this momentum going by chipping in $5 to help fund our next demonstration on the ground.

FWD: We’re outside Sen. Schumer’s office today

Hey John,

Today, we’re showing up to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s office to demand action to end gun violence.

While Senator Schumer and the rest of Congress are on holiday break, gun violence is not. In addition to the Brooklyn subway attack last week, the holiday weekend saw mass shootings across the country, with two minors in Pittsburgh and another child in Portland dead.

We are urging Senator Schumer to immediately bring universal background checks to a vote on the Senate floor. An overwhelming majority of Americans support this life-saving measure, and there’s no reason he can’t take this immediate action to combat the gun violence epidemic.

John, this is one of many actions we’ll be taking to urge Sen. Schumer to pass universal background checks. If you want to help fund our future actions, chip in here >>

We’re done with Congress offering us empty promises and their “thoughts and prayers;'' we demand real action from our elected officials. With a gun safety majority, there’s no reason this critical piece of legislation shouldn't be brought to a vote on the Senate floor.

If you’re with us, John, chip in to our movement to fund our future actions and watch our latest video to Congress below.
