If both Stacey and Beto are elected this November, they'll need a force of committed state Democrats to make their progressive vision a reality.
We're thrilled that Georgia and Texas have such incredible Democratic candidates for governor in Stacey Abrams and Beto O'Rourke.
But both states are dominated by Republicans in the legislature – which would put a limit on the kind of progressive action a Democratic governor would be able to take.
This isn't a hypothetical situation – just last week, Kentucky's GOP-led legislature overturned Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear's veto of a new restriction on abortion access.
If both Stacey and Beto are elected this November, they'll need a force of committed state legislative Democrats on their side to make their progressive vision a reality.
So it's vital that we elect more Democrats to state legislatures this November – and that work starts with you.
We have less than seven months until the midterms, and the GOP will do anything to stall our progress. They're pouring millions of dollars into the state-level ballot, but we're not backing down – this fight is too important. We need your support today.
