The Consumer Price Index jumped 8.5% last month. That is the worst inflation in 40 years.
What should we have expected? When you pump trillions of tax dollars into the economy, you will make the demand for consumer goods and services rise. And when supply can't keep up, you get inflation.
Democrats created this mess, and they refuse to get us out of it. We have to end the inflation crisis as soon as possible.
Inflation acts as a regressive tax that nobody voted for and pays for nothing. Inflation doesn't provide for national defense, inflation doesn't pay for Social Security, and inflation doesn't build roads or bridges. It just hurts Americans.
This is why I oppose extreme government spending. Not only does the taxpayer have to pay for trillion-dollar schemes upfront, they often have to pay a second burden that nobody talks about during the debate.
But Democrats, led by coastal elites, are oblivious to the damage inflation is inflicting on Americans. They are too trapped in their own echo chambers to realize just how much harm they're doing to our country.
