Join us tomorrow Saturday April 16 at 10 AM to discuss important legislation and litigation

Is this the year that we finally get some good legislation from Sacramento? Are some legislators beginning to understand that trickle down market-based legislation is not the solution?

Livable California’s priority bills are posted here. Our position letters on other bills are included on that page. Here are some highlights:

ACA 14 could provide 10s of Billions annually for affordable housing and homelessness:

Livable California has long said that state funding is the only way to provide affordability for the most needy. This bill could be the long-awaited answer.

SB 15 provides state incentives to rezone idle retail sites for housing.

SB 1457 provides $25 billion in bonds for home construction and home ownership.

AB 1771 is a bill that finally attacks speculation, a key issue in the high cost of housing.

On the pushback side:

Sacramento is getting legal pushback on SB 9 - a highly diverse group of medium-sized cities — Whittier, Carson, Torrance and Redondo Beach — have sued State Attorney General Bonta to rein in SB 9.

Local electeds pushed for and receives a state audit of HCD. See their press release here.

We have plenty to discuss. Please join us Saturday at 10 AM.
