Just hours before the deadline to put her name on the ballot, a billionaire heiress entered our race for U.S. Senate. Will you let me explain what that means for our race?

When I entered this race over a year ago, nobody in the political class thought we had a chance in hell. They hadn’t heard of this 13-year Marine veteran who had grown up in a home where his family went bankrupt trying to pay for medical bills. And when I said I was going to raise money the right way — not taking a single penny from corporate PACs — they laughed.

But here we are in April, and our campaign has outraised everyone in the race and narrowed the polling gap to single digits. Our campaign has gotten grassroots donations from all 114 counties and the city of St. Louis. Our grassroots movement has put this Senate race on the map.

Our message from the start has been clear: This is about fundamentally changing who has power in this country. Americans deserve a warrior for working people — someone who is willing to stand up to the corrupt elites and criminal politicians who’ve stripped our country for parts. And I’m ready to serve.
