John,
As we get closer to the critical 2022 midterms, we are gearing up for a fierce political battle – a battle for the soul of our nation.
We know it’s tough out there right now – gas and consumer prices are high, housing costs are out-of-control, COVID is still with us, and red-state legislatures are a raging dumpster fire of hurtful and even deadly policies targeting some of our nation’s most vulnerable people.

Live shot of every red-state legislature right now
Each day, it feels like the Republican Party wakes up hellbent on rolling back every bit of progress our country made in the last 60 years – and some days, it feels like they’re winning.
But in the middle of all this ugliness, we see glimmers of hope.
For one thing, on the issue of Ukraine, Americans are more united than we’ve been in a generation – 85% of Democrats and 73% of Republicans support the U.S. and our allies in leveling tough sanctions against Russia and providing military and other aid to Ukraine.
This is the kind of unity we haven’t seen since the day after 9/11, and it gives Democrats a terrific opportunity to reach across party lines with messages like this one, highlighting the yawning gap between rank-and-file Republican voters and their leadership on this key issue:

Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s stranglehold on rank-and-file Republicans is slipping – in 2019, 54% of Republicans said they were more loyal to Trump than to the Party. By January of this year, only 36% said the same.
Yet, Trump’s control over the GOP leadership is still absolute, giving us an opportunity to reach out to moderate Republicans and swing voters who are fed up with Trump’s clownish behavior and eager to see him sidelined.
The third reason we’re hopeful is that when it comes to the issues most Americans care about, the Democratic Party is the only one offering solutions.
While Republicans rile up their radical right-wing donor base with tired culture-war rhetoric and cruel attacks on the marginalized, Democrats are talking about things like:
- Fixing our roads and bridges
- Making sure our children have clean drinking water
- Expanding access to affordable health care
- Funding community college and trade school tuition for all who want to learn
- Demanding better wages and working conditions
- Improving rural internet access and cell phone coverage
- Giving law enforcement the tools and training they need to keep their communities safe without unnecessary bloodshed
- Preventing gun violence
- Protecting our civil rights
The fact is, Democrats have a platform based on the issues that matter most to working families, and the Republicans have … well, this:

So, there’s reason to hope we can flip some red seats blue this year. But we won’t lie – we know it’s going to be A LOT of work.
We strongly believe NOW is the time to start winning over rural and working-class voters, but we need more funding and manpower.
Our team here at No Dem Left Behind is absolutely stellar, but there’s too much work to be done and not enough of us to do it. We desperately need to hire more organizers, but we can’t do it until we know we have the money to pay them for their hard work!
Will you chip in any amount today to help us expand our team so we can reach more rural and working-class voters and flip America’s Heartland BLUE?

Every time we add a new team member, we get new ideas, fresh perspectives, and a massive energy boost. This uplifts all of us, and it will help ensure more victories for our team in November.
By hiring additional staff, we’ll be able to better serve our endorsed candidates, reach and persuade more voters, train and mobilize more volunteers, and create more awesome online content (like the video we linked earlier in this letter).
But more staff means more expenses, so we really need your help if we’re going to grow.
You know we’re not backed by corporate executives, billionaires, shady special interests, or dark money.
We’re supported by teachers, laborers, social workers, retirees, programmers, small business owners, charity workers, nurses, lawyers, doctors, even a couple of actual rockstars (how cool is that?!) … and YOU.
Your support for our mission has gotten us to where we are today. Now, we’re asking you to help us grow so we can have an even bigger impact.
Please chip in what you can – and consider making it a monthly commitment, so we can focus less on fundraising and more on bringing home victories in November.

Thank you for all you do.
