Friend —

It's been said before, but it's worth saying again: Yesterday, was a joyous day!

We made history by confirming Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve on our nation’s highest court. She is one of the most qualified nominees we have ever seen and her confirmation represents an important step forward in the long and difficult road we have traveled as a country to build a more just and perfect union.

But as sweet as this moment is, it's also a strong reminder of the dangers that lie ahead. Without our important victories at the ballot box in November 2020, this historic confirmation would not have been possible. Republicans know that and have been working overtime to pass legislation in states across our country to make it harder for key Democratic constituencies to vote in 2022.

And, in case there is any doubt, yesterday Mitch McConnell announced that if Republicans win control of the US Senate in November, and there is another opening on the Supreme Court, he refused to commit to even holding hearings on ANY Biden nominee to fill that opening.

The stakes we face in November don't get much clearer than that. We need to get every single Democratic voter energized and to the polls in these upcoming elections. And I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that our future depends on it.

So, I'm asking — are you up for the work ahead to protect and expand our majorities and ensure Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and the rest of them don't get to control the agenda for the next two years — and maybe beyond? Click here to let us know you are in this fight. [[link removed]]

ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]For 15 months now, with our slim 50:50 Senate majority, we have battled to move President Biden's agenda forward. We have made important progress helping American families, workers and small businesses that were battered by the pandemic, getting people back to work again, and passing a once-in-a-generation infrastructure plan. We have also made progress repairing some of the damage from Donald Trump’s assault on our institutions, our historic alliances with NATO and democratic countries around the world — and much more. But Senate Republicans have fought us practically every step of the way.

Even today, as we face Putin's brutal war, an unprecedented number of key national security positions still remain empty because Senate Republicans like Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley refuse to lift their holds on President Biden's nominees.

We need to recognize the very dangerous consequences if Mitch McConnell were to win control of the Senate — and we must work every day to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Thank you for all you do to protect and defend this democracy of ours.

Onwards.

Chris
