John, today I watched in awe as Judge Kentaji Brown Jackson was confirmed to be the next Supreme Court Justice of the United States.

Justice Jackson is a trailblazer, an intellectual heavyweight, and a highly regarded jurist who has dedicated her life and career to advocating for others.

As Republican Senators attempted to smear Justice Jackson during the Supreme Court confirmation hearings, she thoughtfully answered each question, proving her intelligence and willingness to champion justice, equality, and respect for the rule of law above all else.

Justice Jackson’s confirmation as the first Black woman Supreme Court Justice is a historic step toward transforming our Supreme Court so that it reflects the diversity of our nation.

With voting rights, reproductive freedom, and our environment under assault, we must also continue to work toward restoring balance to our nation’s highest court by adding four seats to it.
