Folks — today we witnessed history: the Senate just confirmed Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court on a bipartisan vote.
I want to applaud our leaders in Washington who put partisanship aside to confirm a uniquely qualified judge and the first African American woman to the highest court in the land.
That doesn’t include my opponent, Senator John Kennedy. Kennedy voted against her confirmation and put Louisiana on the wrong side of history.
In fact, Kennedy did nothing but politicize the hearings process, smear Judge Jackson’s reputation, and vote TWICE against her within the same week.
Sen. Kennedy tried to stand in the way of history, but history prevailed. And we’ll make sure he doesn’t forget it. Can I count on you to chip in $25 to our campaign to defeat Kennedy and bring responsible leadership to Louisiana? >>>
Folks, this historical day is also a reminder of what's at stake on November 8th — not just for Louisiana but for our country. The partisan divide in Washington is only growing worse.
People like Kennedy put party over country during our most pivotal moments: think about how he voted to overturn the 2020 election. Today, he voted to reject Ketanji Brown Jackson. We know he will continue to vote against Louisiana's best interests.
We need leaders who won’t run to the extremes or pander for camera time. We need responsible leadership. And as our next United States Senator, that is exactly what I will be. Will you help me get the job done with a $25 contribution today? >>>
