The COVID-19 pandemic has made the importance of a strong public health system abundantly clear. During her time as state senator, Lindsey Williams has been an unrelenting advocate for our state’s health care workers and public health systems.
Lindsey was an early supporter of a rapid vaccine rollout when Republicans — and even members of her own party — were dropping the ball on getting our communities the protection they needed. She fought to get the vaccine distributed throughout the commonwealth because she believes that public health care should be readily accessible to everyone — especially our most vulnerable populations.
When she saw how the pandemic exacerbated the funding challenges plaguing our local fire departments and EMS agencies, Lindsey got to work securing state dollars to provide necessary resources and support for our local public health services.
And after watching our state’s public infrastructure decline over the last few years, Lindsey wasted no time creating a plan to invest federal COVID-19 relief dollars back into projects that would help improve our public safety.
We’ve made great strides in Allegheny County, friend, but there is still so much that can be done to make our state a brighter, safer place for future generations.
