Friend, As gas prices rise, Democrats, who control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency, have many options to mitigate or even reverse the price spike. However, it seems that Democrats really only know how to do one thing - spend taxpayer money. Democrats in the House have proposed a $100 stimulus check to send out to Americans in any month that the national average price per gallon is $4 or more. This is a disastrous, ill-conceived policy, and cannot be allowed to pass. We’re in the middle of an inflation crisis Democrats caused with runaway, irresponsible spending. More spending will only make the problem worse, driving gas prices even higher. Democrats’ plan will also fail to soften the blow of absurd gas prices. Many trucks and SUVs have 25 gallon tanks. So for millions of Americans, that $100 rebate could cover one trip to the pump. Democrats have many better options to address the gas price crisis, mainly ramping American domestic oil production back up. President Biden’s anti- energy policies have left us with severely depleted capacity to produce our own crude; our country needs to reverse course. Sadly, Democrats are so beholden to their progressive ideology and the green lobby that they will never take the most obvious steps to fix our gas price crisis.
