Kia ora John,

We’ll keep this short – we just wanted to make sure you’d heard about the raft of extra support that kicks in today.

These changes will lift the incomes of more than 1.4 million New Zealanders, and are part of Labour’s wider work to ease the cost of living.

The rising cost of living, driven by worldwide inflation and global fuel price hikes, is making things tough for many people right now. While there’s no easy fix, Labour is taking a range of actions to ease the pressure – and these changes are the next step in our plan.

They build on our other recent measures to reduce cost pressures, including the fuel tax cut, along with all the work the Labour Government has done since 2017 to lift incomes and support Kiwis.

There’s more to do, but today’s package will make a real difference for more than a million people across New Zealand. Find out what these changes mean for you and your family here <[link removed]>.

Thanks,

Labour Campaigns Team
