I know it seems early in the election cycle, but let me tell you why it is so important to invest in this campaign right now.

There’s a national organization called EMILY’s List that endorses and supports pro-choice women running for office at all levels, and while I love their name (obviously), their name is actually an acronym for Early Money Is Like Yeast.

That means when people invest in races like this one early — it tends to grow. That’s because it shows we have the support necessary to win and it allows us to hire staff, plan our voter communication, print signs, and start all the work necessary to win a competitive campaign.

And given that we were in legislative session the first 3 months of the year, tonight at midnight is the first PDC fundraising deadline of the election year. We set a goal of raising $10,000 before that deadline, and we are currently $1,798 away from that goal.
