Stop getting as many political insights from The Lincoln Project

It’s clear that only one party believes in the survival of our democracy. That’s what makes this year’s midterms crucial and your participation more important than ever.

Republicans in Washington have made it clear and they continue to make it clear each week that creeps us toward our next election, that they’re not interested in governance. They’re not interested in helping anyone but themselves and they will obstruct anything put in front of them. 

They’re not willing to participate in a democracy - in fact, they’re actively working to dismantle it.

The MAGA purge of the GOP is actively taking place as they primary anyone who voted to impeach Trump. The candidates they’re backing are extreme - there’s no better way to describe it. And their only goal this year is to increase the number of Trump loyalists in Congress. 

If we lose this to this MAGA movement, we lose so much more than midterms. We’ll lose ground in the fight to defend everything this country stands for. We’ve seen how they’ve been chipping away at voting access and all of the redistricting they’ve been trying to pull off. This is more than just Republicans vs. Democrats. We’ve moved beyond that and it’s time for the media to keep up. This fight can be summarized as pro-democracy versus authoritarianism.

This is not a fight we can win without you, Friend.

Of course I’m going to ask you to chip in and support The Lincoln Project - a group uniquely positioned to fight Trumpism, ready to fight this year’s battle. But there’s more you can do, too. We all need to call out fascism when we see it in elections at every level. We have to amplify and spread the truth beyond our own bubbles. 

However you want to show up, it’s time. There are enough of us to do this - enough of us believe that democracy matters. 

This is our moment - and we need you now.
