Speaker Pelosi recently claimed that inflation was caused by Putin’s unacceptable invasion of Ukraine, and that government spending was only lowering the national debt. First, inflation long predates Russia’s invasion. Second, government spending, especially deficit spending like we have now, raises the national debt.
Democrats are in open defiance of reality regarding debt, deficit and spending. They need to acknowledge basic economic facts, and stop pretending that borrowing trillions and trillions of dollars will either fix inflation or somehow magically lower the national debt.
