BREAKING: Ohio's anti-choice politicians just proposed a TOTAL ban on abortion. The proposed law could have abortion providers and women thrown in jail — or even put to death. Make an emergency donation to NARAL Pro-Choice America to fight back now >>
John—
Legislators in Ohio just introduced a total ban on abortion...one that could have deadly consequences for pregnant people and providers.1
The blatant disregard these anti-choice extremist lawmakers have for the rights and health of pregnant people couldn’t be more stark: they're even pushing a requirement for a doctor to attempt to re-implant an ectopic pregnancy into the uterus. This isn't just medically impossible — these pregnancies are non-viable and can lead to a person bleeding to death without treatment.2,3
No matter your circumstances, if you decide to seek abortion care, you should be able to get an abortion — without political interference.
We need you with us to fight this outrageous attack on the right to access abortion — and every other threat to reproductive freedom. Make an emergency gift to NARAL Pro-Choice America today.
Extreme bans on abortion have been introduced, passed, or signed in 31 states — including Ohio4 — this year alone. And since 2011, anti-choice politicians have pushed nearly 450 restrictive laws through state legislatures.5
Make no mistake: their ultimate goal is to overturn Roe v. Wade. The sponsors of this year’s abortion bans — from Ohio to Alabama — are counting on the fact that Donald Trump tipped the balance of the Supreme Court to an anti-choice majority.6
With Mitch McConnell fast-tracking Donald Trump's dangerous judicial nominees to lifetime appointments and Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, we can't assume the courts will strike down these abortion bans.7 We have to stop them from passing in the first place.
We need to step up our fight against this latest ban right now, John. Rush an emergency gift to help NARAL Pro-Choice America stop these extreme attacks and protect reproductive freedom for all.
Thank you for all you do for reproductive freedom,
Ilyse Hogue President, NARAL Pro-Choice America
