This month marks the 57th anniversary of Bloody Sunday. 57 years ago, voting rights activists crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama. As they peacefully demonstrated, Black marchers were violently attacked by white Alabama state troopers.

The devastating events that took place spurred a national call to action to protect Black Americans and the voting rights of all Americans regardless of the color of their skin.

57 years have passed, but our fight continues.

Voting rights are once again under attack — at the federal and local levels, in state legislatures, and in our courts. It’s a calculated attack by extremist politicians to restrict your democratic rights.

And, friend, we must take action.
