John,

This month, I have been reflecting upon how much we have accomplished in the fight for gender equality — as well as how far we still have to go.

In a moment, I’ll share some of my reflections on the movement for gender equality in my lifetime, but before I do, will you donate $7 now to support this campaign so I can continue to fight for women’s rights as Massachusetts’ Attorney General?

My very first job was with Congresswoman Bella Abzug, legendary feminist, civil rights leader, and labor lawyer — she was a major inspiration me as I was deciding to go to law school, become a lawyer, and continue fighting for women’s rights.

As co-founder of the Third Wave Fund and Freedom Summer 1992, I worked hard to encourage women of all backgrounds to vote and run for office.

We brought together a diverse coalition of feminists to travel across the country, register voters, and organize for women’s rights, civil rights, and voting rights — and to recognize the ways that these issues are intertwined.

All fights for justice must be intersectional, and I continue to draw inspiration from that time and from the other amazing women who continue to fight for gender justice for all.

Since that time, as a labor lawyer, I have continued fighting for the rights of women as workers. Early in my career, I often found myself being the only woman in a courtroom full of well-financed, male attorneys.

I was never intimidated, and time and again, I beat the odds and won historic victories for women and workers in Massachusetts.

John, I have spent my entire career as a lawyer and activist fighting for the rights of women from all different backgrounds and walks of life. And that’s what I will continue to do as your Attorney General.

I’m grateful to have been part of some amazing moments in women’s history and, with your support, I know we will continue shaping history as we fight for justice and equity for women everywhere — regardless of race, sexuality, and class.

In honor of Women’s History Month, will you chip in $7 now to help us continue making history in Massachusetts? [[link removed]]

In solidarity,
Shannon
