Friend,

We hope this email finds you well.? Two Mondays ago, we filed our petitions to be on the ballot for Illinois Governor and Lieutenant Governor.? Thanks to your hard work, we were able to file the maximum amount allowed (6,500 signatures).? Since we were in line at 8AM on Monday morning, we have a chance to have our names listed first on the ballot.

The other campaigns are reviewing our signatures, but we don't expect to face a petition challenge (knock-on-wood).? Because we had gathered well over our maximum amount, we were able to review our petition sheets and only turn-in the pages that we believed contained 10 valid signatures.? Other governor campaigns were not as detail-oriented and you may very well see some petition challenges in the coming weeks.?

The campaign "pre-season" is officially over.? We now know who is on the ballot.? If you've made your choice for Illinois Governor, now is the time to start helping that team.?

Yes, Illinois is a "Blue State," and you need cross-over votes to win.? But cross-over votes without the full support of the Republican base results in a blowout (see Mark Kirk 2016).? Carolyn and I are the team that can unite the Republican Party AND get the cross -over votes to send JB Pritzker back to his true calling as a bathroom remodeler.? But we need your help.? Please consider donating to help Carolyn and I win the upcoming primary!?

Volunteer of the Week

Our volunteer of the week is our Madison County Director, Doug Dial.? Doug worked on Paul's 2014 Illinois Attorney General campaign and has been a friend ever since.? He was one of many volunteers who gathered over five sheets of petition signatures for us!

Thank you, Doug, for your hard work--and more importantly--your friendship!

Media Spotlight

I did so many interviews in the aftermath of our petition filing that I lost my voice.? My long radio interview with Robin Johnson of WVIK was the last one before my voice almost completely disappeared.? You can listen to the interview by clicking HERE <[link removed]>.

If you can't handle questions from the media, you aren't going to have the credibility to develop the solutions necessary to unite our state.? We post many of our interview on the campaign website.? You can listen to those media interviews by clicking HERE <[link removed]>.? The picture below is of me at the conclusion of taking questions from the Belleville News-Democrat for over an hour.

Get Involved

Now that we have the petition process behind us, the focus returns to holding events and spreading our message of "Commonsense Conservative Leadership We Can Trust."? If you'd like to help organize one of our "Appetizers & Answers" events (either in your home or at a local restaurant) you can either volunteer on our website or send an email to [email protected].?

Thanks for reading and Semper Fidelis,?

Paul
