This year's legislative session was short, but I'm proud to say that we packed a lot of historic progress into the last few months: [link removed]
We passed our Move Ahead Washington package, a once-in-a-generation investment in transportation and ending the climate crisis. It advances our clean fuel standard, electrifies our ferries, and improves safety infrastructure for bikers and pedestrians.
We capped the price of insulin at $35 for a one-month supply -- because life-saving medication should always be accessible.
We made major investments in salmon recovery.
We took action to ban high-capacity magazines to make Washingtonians safer.
And we led with our values, affirming abortion access in Washington and expanding eligibility for our free lunch program.
We had big goals for a short session, and we achieved them. None of these accomplishments would have been possible without folks like you giving your time, money, and voice.
I could not be more grateful for this team -- and frankly, our work is just getting started. The U.N. just released the next major IPCC climate report, which warns the world that we'll be facing the consequences of the climate crisis even sooner than expected -- and that we aren't taking action fast enough.
That means that it's time for our movement to double down on our work to save humanity from the worst of the climate crisis. Now that we can fundraise again, we're setting an ambitious goal over this next week to kick-start this next phase of our work together.
