Tell Congress:
"Take action now to lower the cost of prescription drugs."
|
John,
Americans pay the highest price for prescription drugs in the world―three times that of other countries like the United Kingdom and Canada. And yet, in the midst of a pandemic, Big Pharma kicked off 2022 by increasing the prices of almost 450 life-saving and life-sustaining drugs.
While Congress has repeatedly promised to address the skyrocketing prices of prescription drugs, they have yet to act.
These three drug price reforms are supported by 80% of the American people:
-
Permitting Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices;
-
Capping copays and out-of-pocket costs for beneficiaries; and
-
Limiting annual price increases on life-saving and life-sustaining drugs to the rate of inflation.
Join the Coalition on Human Needs and our national allies and demand Congress act to rein in Big Pharma’s greed and lower the cost of prescription drugs.
TAKE ACTION
Last week, Congress voted to pass a spending bill that invests in everything from education to child care to health care and more. In the Senate they even mustered the more than 60 votes necessary to overcome a filibuster.
However, the Senate doesn’t need 60 votes to pass prescription drug reforms. It can do so with a simple majority, if they include prescription drug reforms in a budget reconciliation bill. And right now, all 50 Democratic senators support these cost-saving measures.
Sign the petition calling on Congress to lower the cost of prescription drugs to save lives, improve health, fight inflation, and put money back into the pockets of seniors, families, and working people.
Thank you for all you do to fight corporate greed and demand Congress put people’s needs first.
