Dear
John,

In the wake of last week's school shooting in Santa Clarita, Calif., the National Partnership is renewing our call for Senate Republicans to advance gun safety legislation.

Take Action >> [link removed]

Gun violence in the United States is a public health CRISIS and a huge threat to women and families!

Guns and intimate partner violence are an especially lethal combination. This weekend, a father in San Diego fatally shot three of his children and their mother who had sought a restraining order against him the day before. On average, 50 women every month are shot and killed by intimate partners - and children make up 40 percent of victims in domestic violence mass shootings.

What's often left out of the conversation is how communities of color are disproportionately impacted by our nation's shamefully lax gun laws - and how this violence is compounded by racist policies such as redlining and inequities in our criminal justice system.

That's why the National Partnership is joining partner organizations including Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action to call on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to break with the NRA and President Trump and advance gun safety legislation in the Senate.

URGENT: Demand McConnell stop blocking gun safety legislation! >>[link removed]

The House of Representatives passed the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019 in February, the Violence Against Women Act in April, and advanced more gun safety measures in September.

But McConnell has REFUSED to prioritize gun safety in the Senate - even while more and more families are being devastated by gun violence.

According to Everytown for Gun Safety, 100 people on average will be shot and killed every day the Senate fails to act.

We cannot let that happen!

Take Action: Email Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and demand that he advance gun safety legislation. Now. >>

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Debra Ness
President
