Hey John : This is my last installment (for now) of my policy proposal series. This one is all about infrastructure, and while I’d love for you to read the whole thing, I understand if you’re too busy. If you’re already on board, you can click here to help us put the plan into action. [[link removed]] Thanks!

John ,

Infrastructure – it’s not just about roads and bridges.

It’s about our children’s schools, rising housing costs, runaway inflation, broadband access, and making sure Coloradans have what they need to compete in today’s world.

The national supply chain is broken and politicians are too busy praying to the ghost of Ronald Reagan to fix it.

That’s the problem…
Here’s how we fix it :
Invest in Colorado’s future → The economy is changing, and we need to change with it. That means increasing access to broadband areas, raising the minimum wage to meet rising costs of living, and fixing highways that have fallen to years of neglect.
Our highways literally connect the east to the west. Well, what about us up north? We need leaders who will put Coloradans first – which means providing federal assistance to affordable rural housing when Big Tech drives up prices in cities. Or investing in our local roads and bridges to connect our cities. Nobody should be left behind because our leaders are too busy catering to coastal donors.
Make corporations pay → Massive companies are paying only 7% of federal taxes. That’s just insane! We cannot allow these wealthy overlords squeak by while small businesses are stifled.
There needs to be general small business tax incentives paid for by taxing these corporations fairly. (Don’t forget where you came from, Walmart! You were just a cornerstore once!)
Invest in education → Right now, Colorado is at like, a solid B territory, we need to get to an A+! Our schools rank 2nd in the nation for quality education, but our starting teacher salary is the 2nd WORST in the nation. There’s clearly a reason why many are leaving the teaching profession in droves. We need to value our teachers by raising their salaries.
In addition to this, it’s important to provide a quality education to every student by increasing broadband access, allowing parent choice for virtual and in-person schooling, and overall increasing funding for public schools by taxing the Walmarts and Amazons of the world. (You thought you could get off easy with just one policy point about taxing you, Walmart! Not today!)

I believe in putting Coloradans first – not the big corporations who donate to Lauren Boebert or the Big Tech giants who jack up the cost of living for us.

And that means investing in our teachers and workers so they can stay in Colorado for the long haul.
