We are a government of the people, by the people, and for the people — not for big corporations, demagogues, and special interests. But sadly, dark money has been allowed to infiltrate Washington since the Citizens United decision in 2010.
We saw the damage that dark money and shady special interests can do when Donald Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 election. Conservative special interests and a wave of dark money fueled his misinformation campaign and led to the insurrection on January 6. Lack of accountability breeds corruption, and corruption breeds insurrections.
